The residents of Donabate and Portrane Peninsula are facing an alarming frequency of power outages and surges. These power issues disrupt daily life, impacting on work conducted from home, the care of children and elderly, and causing damage to expensive electronic devices. An efficient and reliable electricity supply is a part of critical infrastructure for every developed society, and ours should not be an exception.

We urgently request the Irish Government to conduct a comprehensive audit of the number and frequency of power cuts on the peninsula, and investigate their causes and the direct and indirect consequences they bring to our community. This tract of Ireland should not be left in the dark. We ask our government to prioritize this issue, take decisive actions, and make the necessary improvements to the electrical infrastructure. A reliable, efficient, and modern electricity network is essential not only for the quality of life of residents, but is also fundamental for the economic development and societal wellbeing of Donabate and Portrane Peninsula.
