Enough is Enough – Fix Intersection Beaudesert Beenleigh Road and Mundoolun Connection Road Before More Lives Are Lost!

I can still hear the sound of the impact. I can still feel the terror of that moment, the helplessness as our car was struck, the screams, the pain, the fear that my family might not make it out alive. My husband and I were severely injured. Our youngest child, just 4 weeks old was in the car. We are 24, now with permanent life long injuries, physically as well as mentally, yet we are lucky as we could have easily died. And we were just one of the latest victims of an intersection that has been a death trap for years.

We are almost 4 weeks post crash, today we drove past the spot where our lives were nearly taken. And there, in the very same place, was another horrific crash. Another family potentially torn apart and another life changed forever. It broke me. It made me sick, I instantly broke down in tears. Because it keeps happening, and nothing is being done.

This intersection is dangerous. The statistics prove it. The wreckage proves it. The grieving families prove it. And yet, despite years of crashes, injuries, and lives lost, nothing has changed. How many more people need to suffer? How many more lives need to be taken before someone in power finally says, ‘Enough is enough’ and does something about it?

We refuse to wait for another tragedy. We refuse to let our voices go unheard.

We are demanding that the Department of Transport and Main Roads Queensland and the Scenic Rim Regional Council take immediate action to fix this deadly intersection before more lives are lost. This means implementing one or more of these heavily suggested measures: 

✅ Installing traffic lights 

✅ A speed reduction (current 80km)

✅ Better Signage 

✅ Implementing safety measures to prevent further tragedies
