I am a concerned resident of Central Square, NY, seeking a safe and local place for my family, and indeed our entire community, to enjoy physical activities and foster a healthy lifestyle. It's disheartening that our area lacks a comprehensive fitness facility from a well-recognized institute like YMCA, and, I believe we desperately need one.

Our appeal is for YMCA to establish a full-service location in Central Square, complete with amenities such as a pool, free weights, cardio equipment, cable machines, locker rooms, an indoor track, basketball court, and child care. Having all these under one roof would provide unparalleled convenience and underscore YMCA's commitment to community fitness, youth development and social responsibility.

According to a survey conducted by the Department of Health and Human Services, 31.3% of New Yorkers are physically inactive. Having a YMCA in our locality could help reduce this disturbing statistic, giving us the opportunity to become healthier and more involved members of our community.

So, we reach out to YMCA to earnestly consider establishing a center in Central Square NY, and thereby gift our locality with a complete fitness facility that caters to all ages and ensures a healthy future for all residents. Please do sign this petition to help bring this pressing need to light.
