Urge US action against Boko Haram and support freedom for Nnamdi Kanu

The Issue

Growing up amidst the violence and terror caused by Boko Haram in Nigeria, I have witnessed firsthand the devastation and fear that grips our communities. From my childhood, I have experienced the terror of illegal invasions and the disregard for human lives. Our beloved Igbo tribe, among many others, has been consistently restricted from enjoying their rightful freedom and peace.

The brutal and relentless attacks from Boko Haram have claimed thousands of lives and displaced countless others. This extremist group has not only attacked villages and towns, leaving trails of destruction, but also targeted schools and places of worship, instilling fear and chaos in our lives. The United Nations reports that over 2.5 million people have been displaced in the Lake Chad Basin as a direct consequence of Boko Haram's atrocities. According to Amnesty International, their reign of terror has involved abductions, sexual violence, and indiscriminate killings of civilians.

Moreover, Nnamdi Kanu, a prominent leader advocating for the rights and freedom of the Igbo people through the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), remains detained under conditions that contravene his fundamental human rights. His call for self-determination resonates with many who have been silenced and marginalized for decades. For too long, voices advocating for freedom and justice have been suppressed, yet their message must be amplified in the global arena.

We call upon the United States, a powerful advocate for democracy and justice, to take decisive action. We urge the US government to:

1. **Direct Military Intervention**: Take a strong stance against Boko Haram by providing tactical and strategic military support to dismantle their operations and protect innocent civilians.

2. **Release Nnamdi Kanu**: Advocate for the immediate and unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, ensuring that he receives a fair legal process and upholds his right to freedom. "International court" should step in if necessary to cancel such false allegations laid against him and to judge those false accusers that has forcefully detained innocent Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The support of the United States would bring significant pressure on entities perpetuating terror and justice obstruction in Nigeria.

The urgency of this situation cannot be overstated. Our call for peace and justice is a cry for survival and a plea for humanity. We stand united in our appeal for action and invite you to join us in this pursuit.

Supporting peace and freedom for the people of Nigeria and ensuring justice for Nnamdi Kanu. Together, our voices can forge change and break the chains of oppression.
