Urge United Nations to Condemn Executing LGBT People

Urge United Nations to Condemn Executing LGBT People
The Issue
On December 20, the United Nations will vote on whether sexual orientation should be included in a General Assembly resolution condemning extrajudicial killing. This is an important vote, that will send a message that the UN believes killing people on the basis of sexual orientation is against international law, and a human rights abuse.
Several countries need to be persuaded to support keeping sexual orientation in this resolution. They are the Bahamas, Belize, Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, South Africa and Suriname. Send these countries a message that killing people on the basis of sexual orientation is unacceptable, and should be condemned.
