Urge the Tigray Government to stop sending gold to the Ethiopian Federal Government

Urge the Tigray Government to stop sending gold to the Ethiopian Federal Government
The Issue
The Tigray Region in Northern Ethiopia is undergoing a crisis right now. Innocent refugees in the Hitsats Refugee Camp have been displaced from their homes by Colonel Demeke Zewdu and his Amhara Irredentist Army in Western Tigray. They are now suffering greatly, on the brink of death due to starvation and dehydration. This dire situation has been further exacerbated by the Federal Government of Ethiopia under Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, who cut funding to the Tigray Region just a few months ago, crippling the Tigray government's ability to pay its people's salaries.
In the midst of this humanitarian crisis, the export of Tigray's gold to the Federal Government and the Prosperity Party continues unabated. Gold, a vital resource that could, and should, be used to aid the suffering citizens of Tigray, is being sent out of the region instead. This needs to be urgently addressed.
It's essential that this precious resource is retained within Tigray to assist in alleviating the suffering of its people. By keeping the gold within the region, it can be used to fund essential services, like food, water, and healthcare for those who are most in need. This can make a significant difference in the lives of the displaced and vulnerable populations in refugee camps such as Hitsats.
50% of the gold in Ethiopia's central bank comes from Tigray, and this gold is used for malicious reasons such as funding the terrorist Rapid Support Forces in Sudan, who have been called out for their brutal human rights abuses in Western Sudan and to prepare for the Prime Minister's expansionist dreams in invading neighboring countries for sea access.
The Tigray Government under President Tadesse Werede has the power to make this change. We urge the Tigray Government to halt the shipment of gold to the Federal Government immediately, and instead, allocate these resources towards humanitarian aid within the region.
Supporting the Tigray people in this time of need is not only a moral obligation, but it is also an urgent necessity. By signing this petition, you are advocating for targeted and effective action towards safeguarding the lives of those who continue to suffer in the face of adversity. Join us in demanding that Tigray's resources benefit its people, and not those who are complicit in their suffering. Please sign and help make a difference.
