My daughter is a student at Empower Academy, a program that has been instrumental in her academic and personal growth. When she first heard about this opportunity in 5th grade, her excitement for education was palpable. Despite struggling with anxiety, my daughter has always been an accelerated learner. The nurturing environment at Empower Academy not only supports her mental health but also encourages her academic pursuits, allowing students like her to learn at their own pace. For my daughter, this means the chance to study Algebra next year.

However, on March 11th, there will be a vote by our school board that could potentially close down this invaluable program. This decision would affect not just my child but many others who have found solace and success within its supportive structure.

Empower Academy is more than just an educational institution; it's a sanctuary for students who require different learning environments to thrive academically. We must ensure that such unique programs continue to exist in our community of Oak Creek, WI.
