Urge the President of Ghana to Consider Pending GES Portal Applications of University Graduate Teachers

The Issue

For the past three to five years, we, the university graduated teachers, have equipped ourselves with the requisite knowledge and hands-on skills required to educate future generations in Ghana. Despite our qualifications and multiple attempts, our applications submitted via the Ghana Education Service (GES) portal are sadly still pending. Consequently, we are yet to land the employment opportunities we are rightfully entitled to and are currently unemployed.

It's worth noting that as of 2019, Ghana had a student-teacher ratio of approximately 30-to-1 at the primary level, highlighting the need for qualified teachers across the country (source: World Bank). As university graduates, we have a lot to offer and can significantly contribute to alleviating this educational strain in our country.

As such, we plead with the President elect of the Republic of Ghana to consider our pending applications during the first days of his tenure beginning January 7th, 2025. By doing this, he will be giving us the opportunity to effectively apply our knowledge and skills within the classrooms, lead the educational needs of the nation, and contribute to Ghana's socioeconomic development. Please join us in this cause by signing this petition.
