As a deeply concerned parent of a tennis player, I am witnessing firsthand the distress and frustration caused by the current World Tennis Number (WTN) system. My child, along with many others, is missing out on tournament entries and county event selections due to inaccuracies in their WTN ratings. This not only denies them opportunities but also undermines the credibility of our tournament system in Great Britain.

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) has admitted that there are longstanding bugs within this system, resulting in wildly inaccurate WTNs. These errors have significant adverse effects on players, tournaments, and parents alike.

As customers of tennis - players and parents - we deserve to have our voices heard. We propose that until such time as these issues are rectified, just as they do within their RPDC system, the LTA should replace the use of WTN with Universal Tennis Rating (UTR). The UTR is a more accurate reflection of player ability and would ensure fairer treatment for players.
