The core of his prolonged detention is a gun enhancement charge, which continues to hold him captive despite changes in law that render it obsolete. His co-defendants, who were actually implicated in the crime, have already served their sentences and are now free. Meanwhile, Victor remains unjustly behind bars, stripped of his freedom for no valid reason.
