The Issue

Victor T. Garrett Jr., my beloved husband, has been wrongfully incarcerated for the past 15 years. His life took an unjust turn when he was charged with robbery, despite a lack of any credible evidence or identification linking him to the crime. Shockingly, the judge presiding over his case openly admitted to harboring prejudice, yet the verdict persisted. Victor's case is not one of guilt but rather of systemic failure and judicial bias.

Throughout the trial, Victor was never once identified by the victim nor was he present at the scene of the crime. The core of his prolonged detention is a gun enhancement charge, which continues to hold him captive despite changes in law that render it obsolete. His co-defendants, who were actually implicated in the crime, have already served their sentences and are now free. Meanwhile, Victor remains unjustly behind bars, stripped of his freedom for no valid reason.

The law has since evolved, and the charges maintaining Victor’s imprisonment are no longer justifiable. This outdated and unjust legal circumstance cries out for correction. Victor Garrett deserves the opportunity to regain his life, to be with his family and friends, to contribute to society as a free individual.

We urge the legal system to rectify this glaring injustice and restore faith in its capability to uphold genuine justice. Please join us in calling upon the judge to reconsider Victor's case, acknowledge the absence of evidence against him, and recognize the evolution of laws since his original sentencing.

Your signature on this petition will push for a thorough review and hopefully, the release of Victor T. Garrett Jr. Let's stand together against prejudice and wrongful incarceration. Sign this petition and be part of rectifying a deep and personal injustice.
