The Issue

Tamla Horsford was not only a loving mother of five boys, aged 4-15, but she was also my best friend. Her tragic death on November 4, 2018, during an overnight party in Forsyth County, Georgia, has raised numerous concerns and left an indelible mark of grief and uncertainty in the hearts of those who knew her and many others who learned about her story.

The circumstances around Tamla's death at a sleepover where she was the sole Black attendee are deeply troubling. Official reports and witness statements have been inconsistent, and many believe key evidence has been overlooked or intentionally dismissed. Despite her passing being ruled as an accident, critical aspects remain unresolved: lies were told, ambulances were cancelled, vital evidence was destroyed, and the crime scene was grossly mishandled. The handling of the case was further compromised by racial bias, yet no charges have been made, and justice remains unserved.

A comprehensive and transparent investigation is crucial, not only for the sake of Tamla's memory but also for her children, who deserve answers and an explanation of the circumstances that led to their mother's untimely demise. Immediate intervention from the FBI in Washington, D.C. to re-examine and thoroughly investigate the case is imperative.

We call upon the FBI, as an impartial federal body, to reopen Tamla Horsford’s case and ensure that justice is served. Tamla's life, like anyone else's, is precious and deserves unwavering efforts to uncover the truth. Her family and friends, along with countless supporters, seek closure and accountability.
