Urge the FAA to Permit Flights Through the Gateway Arch

Urge the FAA to Permit Flights Through the Gateway Arch
The Issue
I've always been fascinated by the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. Its unique design and symbolic representation of westward expansion have captivated me since childhood. However, an outdated law prevents flights from passing through this iconic monument - a restriction that I believe is no longer necessary and could add an exciting new dimension to our city's skyline.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has had this rule in place due to a tragic accident that occurred decades ago. While we should never forget such incidents, it's also important to recognize how far aviation safety has come since then. According to data from the National Transportation Safety Board, air travel is now considered one of the safest modes of transportation with a fatality rate of only 0.07 per billion passenger miles (NTSB, 2019).
By allowing flights through the Gateway Arch, we would not only be acknowledging advancements in aviation safety but also offering an unforgettable experience for tourists and locals alike - making our city even cooler than it already is.
I urge you all to join me in petitioning the FAA to reconsider their stance on this issue and allow flights through our beloved Gateway Arch. Please sign this petition today!
