I have chosen to use the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Sound Meter application to report on sound levels. Noise level recording I made on July 1, 2025 (for 6 minutes and 39 seconds) from the front porch of 1138 Orchard Lakes Drive (across the street from 1149 Orchard Lakes Drive) shows the highest instantaneous sound pressure reading measured with a "C" frequency weighting filter (LCpeak) of 115 dB, the highest sound pressure level measured for the measurement duration (Max. level) of 89.7 dB, and equivalent (averaged every second) continuous sound level in A-weighted decibels (LAeq) of 66.7 dB.


On July 2, 2025 (ending at 6:12 P.M.) I recorded the noise level for four hours, seven minutes, and six seconds (04:07:06) with my iPad sitting on my backyard patio at 1149 Orchard Lakes Drive. Using the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Sound Meter application, 138.3 dB was the highest instantaneous sound pressure reading measured with a "C" frequency weighting filter (LCpeak). The highest sound pressure level measured for the measurement duration (Max. level) was 115.9 dB. During this recording session, the recorded equivalent (averaged every second) continuous sound level in A-weighted decibels (LAeq) was 96.5 dB. I took additional noise level readings in July, with the following data collection:

July 8, 2025, LAeq 101.1 dB with a duration of 01:08:25 ending at 04:09 P.M.
July 16, 2025, LAeq 95.8 dB with a duration of 02:40:14 ending at 8:25 P.M.
