Urge the City to Address and Improve Residential Maintenance for East Miramar
Urge the City to Address and Improve Residential Maintenance for East Miramar
The Issue
As a 40-year resident of Miramar, I am deeply concerned about the declining condition and neglect of our neighborhood. Garbage plagues our streets, commercial vehicles and oversized RVs clutter residential properties, and homes display serious signs of neglect such as overgrown grass, outdoor storage, and trash. Dead animals are left on the swales or in the road without being cleaned, presenting both a visual blight and health hazard.
Despite ongoing communication with Code Enforcement since 2017, the results have been poor, short-lived and lacked accountability from leadership. The only time our community made a significant turn was under the leadership of Supervisor Gene Samuel and Commander Ricardo Collings. Their departure left behind what looks like a garbage dump - this is our unfortunate reality in The Knolls community and throughout East Miramar.
It is crucial to highlight that we are not asking for expedited, large-scale improvements such as having homes painted or driveways repaired. We urge for attention on basic neighborhood maintenance with a proactive approach rather than the current reactive one.
Restoring Miramar to a clean, safe, and respectable neighborhood benefits not only its residents but also enhances the overall reputation of our city. We believe our community deserves genuine commitment and leadership that will ensure continued improvement and preservation.
I invite fellow residents and all concerned citizens to join me in this cause. Together, we can send a message that East Miramar urgently needs attention. Please sign our petition and demand that city leaders address and rectify the state of residential maintenance in Miramar.
