Urge the City of La Verne to Construct Additional Tennis Courts

Urge the City of La Verne to Construct Additional Tennis Courts
The Issue
As a passionate tennis player who discovered the joy of this sport in my 40s, I am deeply invested in this cause. My children, along with many others in our community, have embraced tennis as their primary sport. However, we are facing a significant challenge - there simply aren't enough courts to accommodate everyone.
In La Verne, we are fortunate to live in a city where our local government provides free courts for its residents. Yet currently, there are only five courts available for use. This is far from sufficient to meet the demand during peak hours after school and work when most people have time for recreational activities.
Tennis is not just a game; it's an opportunity for physical exercise and social interaction that contributes positively to our community's health and well-being. The lack of adequate facilities hampers these benefits and restricts access to this wonderful sport.
Therefore, we urge the City of La Verne to consider constructing additional tennis courts. By doing so, they would be supporting healthy lifestyles among residents while also fostering community spirit through shared sporting pursuits.
Please sign this petition if you believe that more tennis courts will benefit both current players like myself and future generations who may discover their love for the game here in La Verne.
Update: I talked with Meg McWade from the city. Soon they are starting with a park Master plan for La Verne. It is important to get the most signatures so when the moment comes tennis courts are included in this project per residents request. That is a long term plan.
In the short term, not taking more tennis courts from the residents should be the goal. Only if our is voice is raised you can be heard.
