Living and working near Greens Road between Highway 59 and JFK BLVD in Houston has become a constant source of frustration and unexpected expenses for me and countless other residents who rely on this road daily. This stretch of road is in dire condition, riddled with countless potholes, deep pits, and cracks that make routine travel hazardous.

There is a significant amount of pedestrian traffic and school bus stops along this road, but the lack of sidewalks and crosswalks makes it very dangerous. 

I have personally experienced multiple flat tires and costly suspension damage due to the poor state of the road. Each day, ordinary commutes are fraught with the anxiety of potential vehicle damage. Unfortunately, my story is not unique; countless drivers and residents in our community face these same issues, leading to both financial strain and safety concerns.

Greens Road serves as a major thoroughfare for commuters, airport (IAH) workers, school buses, and emergency vehicles, making its upkeep not just a matter of convenience but of public safety. Potholes and deteriorated road surfaces contribute to delayed response times for emergency vehicles, and pose a significant risk to drivers, which could result in accidents and further traffic congestion.

The City of Houston has a responsibility to maintain safe and reliable infrastructure for all its residents. Allocating funds to repair and replace Greens Road would not only alleviate current driving hazards but also demonstrate the city's commitment to the well-being of its citizens.
