Urge the Army Corps of Engineers to repair the neglected pier
The Issue
Hello everyone, I am reaching out to you not only as a concerned citizen but also as a proud member of the Girl Scouts, taking on this issue as my project for the prestigious Girl Scouts Gold Award. What drives me is my deep commitment to community safety and environmental stewardship, and I need your help to make a significant impact.
Over the past few years, a once vibrant and cherished pier in our community has fallen into a state of dangerous disrepair. This pier, managed by the Army Corps of Engineers, has unfortunately become a ticking time bomb for safety hazards like loose boards, exposed nails, and severe structural weaknesses. Its current condition poses not just a threat to the hundreds of residents and tourists who visit the site, but it also jeopardizes the local ecosystem that depends on this coastal area.
Despite the clear and present dangers, the Army Corps of Engineers has not taken sufficient action to address this issue. This is why we stand together today. By urging them to allocate necessary resources and expertise, we can restore the pier to a safe, functional state, and ensure its utility for future generations.
Together, we can persuade the Army Corps of Engineers to prioritize funding and begin the repairs needed to bring our pier back to life. Not only will this protect our community, but it will also set a precedent for responsible management of important infrastructures across the nation.
Sign this petition to support this vital project and ensure that the pier is restored and maintained with the attention it desperately needs. Let's show the power of a united community and make a difference today!
