Public transport is a shared space where people should respect each other's peace and tranquility while travelling. For many of using the underground, trains or buses operated by TFL is a daily necessity.

Cities like New York and Tokyo have already implemented campaigns to encourage noise reduction, leading to more pleasant journeys for everyone. TFL could also embark on a similar campaign. By raising awareness through posters, announcements, and social media campaigns, TFL could educate passengers about the importance of maintaining a respectful environment for all. Implementing such measures would remind everyone that our actions affect others, fostering an atmosphere of respect and consideration.

We urge TFL to heed this call for action and prioritise creating a more considerate commuting environment. Encouraging passengers to use headphones and to avoid loud phone conversations would have a profoundly positive impact on everyone’s experience.
