Urge Texas State Officials to Halt Charles Rivers Laboratory Construction Near Wildlife Refuge

Urge Texas State Officials to Halt Charles Rivers Laboratory Construction Near Wildlife Refuge
The Issue
As a resident of Brazoria County, TX, USA, I have a deep-rooted connection with the natural beauty and rich biodiversity that our region offers. Our ecosystem is not just an integral part of our identity but also a source of pride for us Texans. It has recently come to light that Charles Rivers Laboratory plans to construct a facility near the San Bernard River and wildlife refuge - an area cherished by our community.
Charles Rivers Laboratory is currently under investigation which raises concerns about their ethical practices. The proposed construction threatens the ecological balance and could potentially harm the local animals and residents we strive so hard to protect.
Texas hosts over 113 threatened or endangered species (source: U.S Fish & Wildlife Service), many of which find sanctuary in areas like San Bernard River wildlife refuge. Any disruption in these habitats can have far-reaching consequences on these vulnerable species as well as on our ecosystem.
We call upon all residents of Texas and urge you to contact your state officials regarding this matter. We must voice our concerns loud enough so they reach the ears of those who can halt this construction project before it's too late.
Let us stand together in protecting what makes Texas truly great - its diverse ecosystems. Please sign this petition today!
