I am personally concerned about an issue affecting many residents of the Stirling Council area. There is currently an 8-week gap for collection of blue bins by Stirling Council. Currently, there remains another 2 weeks to wait. In many cases it is already difficult to manage the recyclable items in the blue bin on the usual 4-week cycle. Despite squashing and compressing, there is just not enough capacity in my bin for an 8-week gap. I have had to use my own time and resources to take the excess refuse to the recycling centre. Some have also tried this, only to be unable to book the recycling centre as it was too busy.

This 8-week wait is because of the festive period, and all councils have to adapt collections for this. However, some councils carry out an early collection, and accept up to 3 extra bags of refuse in January.

I feel it is unfair to pay for this public service in full, and not receive all 4-weekly collections. If, for example, we pay a window cleaner. We would not pay if they did not turn up and clean our windows. I am but a minion, but if all of us minions sign, then there is a voice.

I believe, there should be a refund for the missed service, or another collection. Please sign if you agree. Thank you :)
