The Issue

Being lactose intolerant is a life-changing experience. Recently diagnosed, I have discovered how challenging it can be to enjoy daily comfort drinks without triggering discomfort or health issues. Starbucks was one of the few places I could frequent without worry, as they offered lactose-free milk. However, this option has been removed, making it increasingly difficult for those of us with lactose intolerance to enjoy a simple cup of coffee, chai tea latte or a number of other delicious drinks they have on their extensive menu.

Lactose intolerance affects approximately 65% of the world's population, according to the National Institutes of Health. This statistic highlights the significant number of individuals who require lactose-free options in their diets. For many, lactose-free milk is not a luxury but a necessity. Removing this option from Starbucks, a globally recognized and beloved coffee chain, marginalizes a significant portion of the customer base.

The decision to discontinue lactose-free milk does not only affect those with lactose intolerance. It impacts families and friends who support individuals with this dietary restriction, limiting their venue choices when socializing or working. For the business, this decision could potentially result in losing loyal customers who can no longer enjoy their favorite orders.

Starbucks has long been known for its inclusivity and dedication to catering to various dietary needs. Reintroducing lactose-free milk would align with these values, demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity and customer satisfaction.

Sign this petition to urge Starbucks to reconsider their decision and reinstate lactose-free milk to their menu. Your support can help ensure that everyone, regardless of their dietary restrictions, can enjoy their favorite Starbucks beverages without compromise.
