Urge St. John's County Commissioners to Continue Funding Road Construction in Rivertown

The Issue

I am penning this plea as a resident of Rivertown and a dutiful St. Johns county taxpayer. The fabric of our community is shaped greatly by the layout and condition of our roads. Unfortunately, the funding for new roads and their maintenance in Rivertown is under threat and we must take action.

Meticulously built and maintained roads are the bedrock of a flourishing community. They improve connectivity, enhance safety, and promote economic development by facilitating smooth transportation of goods and services. Unfortunately, if the county commissioners decide against the continuation of funding, not only will new road construction be interrupted but the upkeep of our existing roads may also be compromised.

Rivertown is a longstanding community with residents who have lived here for more than 15 years. As such, we were under the impression that the county had already approved and earmarked funding for continued infrastructure. The cancellation of county funding for new roads in Rivertown would place an undue financial burden on existing residents, as the RiversEdge CDD would inherit those costs.

Let's urge the St. Johns County Commissioners to vote in favor of continued funding for new roads in Rivertown. The prosperity of an existing community should not be compromised in favor of fulfilling campaign promises to halt growth.

Please join me in this vital cause. Sign the petition and help us ensure the continued growth and welfare of our beloved Rivertown.
