Social Media can be an excellent place to connect with friends, be entertained, or learn something new. However, algorithms on social media platforms such as TikTok have been shown to promote misogynistic content to young men. Not only does this cause these young men to develop prejudiced views about women, but witnessing this rise in misogyny is detrimental to the mental health of young women. Join me in urging social media platforms to increase their moderation efforts to prevent both young men and women from being exposed to misogynistic rhetoric.
