As a dedicated member of the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates Guild (SPGG), I rely on the Wellness Centre to maintain my physical and mental well-being. However, it's becoming increasingly difficult to enjoy these facilities due to certain users blatantly disregarding established guidelines. For instance, the bringing of phones into the Wellness Centre has become common, raising significant privacy concerns for all users. Recording devices in such a private setting can potentially violate the privacy of fellow members, making our once serene oasis a place of discomfort and distrust.

Another pressing issue is the misuse of the sauna. Some users are pouring water into the electric sauna, not only disregarding the guidelines but also risking significant damage to the equipment. This misuse potentially jeopardizes everyone's safety and forces other members to bear the consequences of these actions, like increased repair costs or limited access to facilities.

The Wellness Centre fundamentally exists to serve us, its members, by providing a safe, comfortable, and restorative environment. However, these fundamental objectives are being compromised by the negligent actions of a few. Therefore, it is crucial that the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates Guild revises their guidelines for the Wellness Centre to address these violations comprehensively and ensure that the guidelines are strictly enforced.

Let's request SPGG to improve signage within the Wellness Centre to remind users of the existing rules. Additionally, training staff to enforce guidelines without fear and reprisal can ensure that everyone can enjoy the facilities without worries about privacy invasions or equipment misuse.

We need immediate action to protect our sanctuary. My sincere hope is that this petition will raise awareness of these issues and prompt the necessary changes to restore the Wellness Centre to a peaceful and secure place for all its members.
