Today, we live in a world where substances like fentanyl exist, widely available despite its serious potential for harm. So, I ask myself, why restrict access to a substance like Quaaludes? Rooted in this personal belief, I understand it may not resonate with everyone, but fair medical policies call for such open discussions.

Quaaludes, or Methaqualone, were once a leading sedative and hypnotic prescription medication, helping many with sleep disorders and anxiety. However, their production was halted due to high addiction risks and potential for misuse. But this is the case with many substances, not just Quaaludes. Critical education and adequate regulation can combat misuse while providing people with the personal freedom to use.

Quaaludes have now been long out of production, and the remaining supply is set to be destroyed by law. But reexamining these laws isn't out of the question, especially in light of recent concerns about other substances.
