Urge Regent University to Address the Persistent Black Mold Issue in the Village

The Issue

As an individual who will be moving to the Village next semester, this problem is something I cannot ignore. Various students have suffered over the years from the persistent black mold problem in the Village. Tragically, a few of these students have even been hospitalized due to severe health complications induced by this negligence.

It's clear that the administration is not prioritizing the health and safety of its most valuable asset, the students. They only seem to care when there's a risk of a lawsuit, turning a blind eye to the persistent plea of students requesting an immediate solution.

Mold exposure can lead to multiple health issues including respiratory problems, allergic reactions, and in severe cases, it can lead to neurological damage or even death ("Mold Exposure Health Risks", Environmental Protection Agency). As a university, Regent must be a place of safety not harm.

In addition to poisoning our bodies, black mold has been psychologically disturbing. It is hard to concentrate on academics when the very environment you are supposed to study and live in poses a strikingly evident health threat.

Now is the moment for action. We call for Regent University to urgently address the black mold problem within the village; implement extensive mold removal and provide reassurance of the students’ health priority. The health, safety, and future of the students are on the line, and it's time Regent University steps up to secure these. Please, sign this petition to help us bring about much-needed change.
