President Trump and Vice President JD Vance have spoken boldly about the importance of marriage and children. They’ve promised to make America “fertile again” and put families first.

But speeches aren’t enough. American families need real policy—and they need it now.

The cost of raising children is at an all-time high. Housing, childcare, and basic necessities are pricing young couples out of starting families. Many are delaying marriage or children because they simply can’t afford it. Meanwhile, married couples often lose benefits they qualified for as individuals, creating a financial penalty for doing the right thing.

During his campaign, President Trump promised a meaningful baby bonus for new parents and tax reforms that would end the marriage penalty. But one year into his second term, those promises remain unfulfilled. Instead of bold action, families have been offered symbolic gestures like “Trump accounts” that won’t help parents during the critical early years of raising children.

It’s time for real support. A $5,000 baby bonus would ease the financial burden of new parenthood. Fixing the marriage tax penalty would remove a direct disincentive to family formation. These are common-sense, pro-family policies that conservatives have rallied behind for years—and they’re long overdue.

We call on President Trump, Vice President Vance, and leaders in Congress to immediately enact a federal baby bonus and marriage tax reform.

These policies would directly support the values they’ve championed: strong families, personal responsibility, and growth for future generations.

It’s not enough to talk about the falling birthrate, or praise big families from the stage. If this administration is serious about supporting American families, it must act now.
