Urge President Biden to Pardon Unjustly Imprisoned Veteran Taylor Taranto

Urge President Biden to Pardon Unjustly Imprisoned Veteran Taylor Taranto
The Issue
Taylor Taranto, a veteran and family man, is waiting in solitary confinement in DC jail for trial for over half a year. Studies show that prolonged isolation can lead to severe psychological effects including depression, anxiety and hallucinations. He was arrested for crimes he did not commit on June29, 2023. His main charge is participation in January 6 event in 2021. He happened to enter with many others the Capitol building in peaceful protest which is guaranteed by First Amendment to the Constitution, freedom of speech and peaceful protest.
His incarceration has left his wife and children alone, struggling to cope with the absence of their loved one. Furthermore, Mr. Taranto suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), a condition that is being exacerbated by the harsh conditions of solitary confinement.
This petition aims at urging President Joe Biden to show compassion towards Taylor Taranto by granting him a pardon - an act which would not only rectify an injustice but also shed light on the broader issue of how we treat veterans suffering from mental health issues within our criminal justice system.
We need your signature today to help bring this urgent matter before President Biden and advocate for justice for Taylor Taranto. He deserves to be reunited with his family and stay in safe environment.
In addition, because of misunderstanding about his case, I am posting the links to Taylor’s testimony (Feb 2, 2024) from the facility he is being held in Washington D.C.
