URGE POSIBL/HUMO TO DROP LAWSUIT AGAINST FORMER PARTNER

URGE POSIBL/HUMO TO DROP LAWSUIT AGAINST FORMER PARTNER
The Issue
Community! We need your help.
Susie Plascencia, a former partner at HUMO (a cannabis brand owned by POSIBL Project), is facing a costly lawsuit that is having deleterious effects on her life and well-being. We're demanding HUMO/POSIBL to drop the lawsuit immediately.
Susie was a dedicated and highly valued HUMO/POSIBL team member for over a year. She joined the team when the brand only existed within the pages of a deck and helped nurture it into a multi-million dollar machine. Her contributions to the brand's growth and success are undeniable. And, as a Latina partner, she passionately ensured the brand promoted diversity, equity, and inclusion. She invested hundreds of hours in community work on behalf of HUMO to ensure the Latino community knew they had a home in the cannabis industry.
Then, in May of 2023, Susie was let go from HUMO during equity negotiations and is now embroiled in a David and Goliath legal battle with POSIBL, one of the largest cannabis corporations in California—likely the US. Not only is she dealing with the emotional distress of losing everything she worked tirelessly to build, but she's also facing the unimaginable weight of corporate cannabis wielding its power in an unfair dynamic. She is being silenced as a result.
Data doesn't lie: Latinas face persistent injustices in corporate industries, with limited representation in leadership roles and unequal pay.
--> Latina women earn only 55 cents for every dollar earned by white, non-Hispanic men.
--> Latinas represent only 4.3% of executive or senior-level officials and managers in the U.S.
But the implications of this lawsuit extend far beyond Latinas and cannabis. It indicates a dire, unjust future for ALL women in business.
This lawsuit is not just causing unnecessary stress and hardship for Susie, it's also diverting valuable resources and energy away from the core mission of HUMO/POSIBL Project's organization.
OUR CALL TO ACTION: Sign this petition to tell HUMO/POSIBL to drop the lawsuit against Susie. We FIRMLY believe that an amicable resolution can be reached that's fair to both parties and contributes to building a safe and inclusive industry for all women.
SIGN NOW to reassure every woman watching that there's hope for an inclusive and equitable future.
We also want to make clear that harassment of any kind in any workplace or industry should never be tolerated. We ask that you honestly assess all employees, both present and future, to ensure you're offering a safe place for all.
