Urge Politicians to Mandate Internet Companies for Underground Infrastructure Investments

The Issue

I, like many others, have to endure a constant eyesore outside my living room windows - a jumbled mass of cables stretching from every telegraph pole, cutting across our sky, and polluting our urban landscape.  It's not just a mere eyesore; it's a stark reminder of an outdated system that we ought to change urgently for a better alternative. Our proposal is that we want our internet companies to invest in underground cables, a more modern, safe, and aesthetically pleasing solution to manage our digital infrastructure.

If other countries can do it, why can't we.  Take Singapore for instance, where 99% of cables are buried underground, enhancing the urban cityscape, and allowing for faster, more stable internet connections  Even within the US, cities like Charlotte and San Diego have implemented regulations that require new developments to place cables underground.

The politicians representing us must be prevailed upon to legislate this shift. Not only will it enhance the aesthetic appeal of our communities, but such upgrades also promise improved service reliability and reduced maintenance costs in the long term. This move will also put the responsibility on internet companies to channel a portion of their profits into tangible improvement of the infrastructure, that will benefit us all.

Join us in this call for change. Sign our petition to urge our representatives in the government to hold these internet companies accountable for upgrading their infrastructure and beautifying our communities in the process.
