The Issue

Dear Payoneer,

We are writing to urge you to lift the recent limitations imposed on Afghan Payoneer accounts, which are critically affecting the livelihoods of Afghan freelancers and remote workers, particularly Afghan women. These limitations include:

 1. Blocking Payoneer-to-Payoneer transfers: This hampers the ability of freelancers to receive payments from clients and other freelancers.
 2. Restricting transfers to Afghan bank accounts: This makes it nearly impossible for Afghan users to withdraw their earnings.
 3. Prohibiting the creation of new Payoneer accounts from Afghanistan: This prevents new users, especially women, from accessing the platform to earn a livelihood.

Urgent Request:

We, the undersigned, request Payoneer to:

 1. Reinstate Payoneer-to-Payoneer transfers for Afghan accounts.
 2. Allow transfers to Afghan bank accounts for new users.
 3. Permit the creation of new Payoneer accounts from within Afghanistan.

Why This Matters:

These measures are lifelines for many Afghan women who strive to maintain financial independence and support their families under dire circumstances. By lifting these restrictions, Payoneer will:

 • Empower Afghan women and men to continue working and earning.
 • Support the Afghan freelance community and the broader economy.
 • Demonstrate corporate responsibility and global solidarity.

Please consider our plea and take action to lift these restrictions. The Afghan community, especially its women, rely heavily on platforms like Payoneer to connect with the global economy. Your support can make a significant difference in their lives.

Thank you for your attention and understanding.

Sincerely,

Susan Qaesari
