Urge North Dakota to Amend Window Tint Law to 35%

The Issue

I recently purchased a vehicle from a dealership, only to discover that the factory-installed window tint was deemed illegal under current North Dakota law. This situation feels incredibly unfair - why should we receive tickets for something that came standard from the factory?

North Dakota's current window tint law is outdated and doesn't take into account modern vehicle manufacturing standards. Many vehicles now come with factory-installed window tints exceeding the state's legal limit, leaving unsuspecting car owners at risk of fines.

Moreover, there are valid reasons for allowing darker tints. According to research conducted by The Skin Cancer Foundation, window film provides significant protection against harmful UV rays which can lead to skin cancer (The Skin Cancer Foundation). A 35% tint allows enough light in for safe driving while providing necessary protection.

We're not asking for an unreasonable change - many states already allow a 35% tint on windows (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). It's time North Dakota updated its laws accordingly.

Please join us in urging our state legislators in North Dakota to amend the existing window tint law and increase the permissible limit to 35%. Sign this petition today and help us bring about this much-needed change!
