Urge Netflix to Reinstate Household Sharing Feature

The Issue

My team and I deeply feel the significant impacts of Netflix's decision to remove the option to share accounts outside of our households. We all enjoy the communal experience of watching our favorite shows and movies together, even if separated by distance. We are not alone in this. Millions of Netflix users worldwide are affected by this change, and we believe it's important that Netflix hears our voice.

Netflix boasts a massive subscriber base of over 167 million across more than 190 countries. Before the restriction, many families, friends, colleagues, and study groups could enjoy content at the same time – fostering shared experiences, promoting discussions and bonding over relatable series and films. Now, this shift has disrupted our shared viewing habits, creating a disconnect in an already socially distanced world.

We respectfully request Netflix to reconsider their recent policy change. Our plea is not simply for our convenience, but for the unique sense of unity provided by sharing screen time. We also believe it could benefit Netflix, as upholding the shared accounts feature can further bolster customer satisfaction and loyalty, without necessarily hurting their bottom line.

It's important to note that many subscribers will still maintain individual accounts, ensuring a steady stream of income for Netflix. This isn't about calling for free services, but about restoring an element of connectivity in digital entertainment.

Please, let's send a clear message to Netflix: we value shared experiences, the personal connections built from common interests. Return our right to share our enjoyment of Netflix outside our household. Don't let the joy of watching together become another casualty of social distancing. We do this with the utmost respect and do not wish to drag other platforms, like Disney+, into this discussion.

By signing this petition, we can demonstrate the collective request of millions for a more accessible and communal Netflix. Please, sign this petition and make our voices heard.
