Because I rely heavily on these platforms for both social and professional purposes, this situation has disrupted my daily interactions and professional relationships. Furthermore, I have realized that I am not alone; many users face similar issues, not only with account suspensions but also with persistent in-app errors that hinder the user experience.
While automated moderation systems aim to protect online communities, they frequently trigger unwarranted account suspensions, leaving users trapped in repetitive appeal processes with little transparency or human review. Research by digital rights advocates—including the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and the Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT)—highlights that automated content moderation regularly misinterprets context and misidentifies compliance issues, resulting in thousands of erroneous account terminations each year across major platforms.
Moreover, these errors and suspensions disproportionately affect small business owners, content creators, and professionals who depend on Meta for their financial stability. According to Meta's own reports, over 200 million businesses rely on its apps every month to reach customers—meaning even temporary disruptions or erroneous bans can have devastating financial consequences.
To resolve these critical issues, I call upon Meta to:
