Urge LMAS director to rescue community cats from UPS crash site

Urge LMAS director to rescue community cats from UPS crash site
The Issue
I am writing this petition out of concern for the welfare of the community cats that have been left near the recent UPS crash site, on Melton Avenue. Before the unfortunate crash, employees from nearby businesses would care for these cats regularly. However, since these businesses have been left unoperable due to the crash, for the forseeable future, there is no one left to provide for the cats' needs and ensure their safety. As a cat lover, I can't help but feel the distress of knowing these innocent creatures are left in harm's way, and I wouldn’t want my own pets to be exposed to such danger.
The site of the crash is currently under assessment for chemical contamination. Given that test results have yet to be released, we don't have information confirming the safety of this area. The potential presence of toxic chemicals could pose a significant health risk to the cats. Leaving them there is not only irresponsible but also inhumane, as it directly compromises their wellbeing.
Louisville Animal Services have trapped, neutered, and released these cats, returning them to the location now in question. The TNR program is beneficial for controlling the population, and it is standard procedure to release them back into the area that they came from. However, in this case, releasing them back into an inhospitable and potentially toxic area was not a considerate move. The cats deserve a safe and caring environment, and it is imperative for Louisville Metro Animal Services to act immediately.
We urge the Louisville Metro Animal Services (LMAS) director to take swift action by relocating the cats to a safer location where they can receive the care and protection they need until further assessments are made. These animals rely on our compassion and responsibility for their survival and deserve humane treatment.
By signing this petition, you can help us demonstrate to the LMAS director and the community as a whole that we prioritize the well-being and safety of these cats. Let's ensure that they find a secure environment, as this is vital for their health and survival. Please join me in urging the LMAS to prioritize the immediate relocation of these community cats.
