The Issue

Living at 138 Dam Wood Road for 44 years, my husband and I have cherished every moment in this neighborhood where our children grew up. It's a place packed with memories, community bonds, and a sense of safety and peace. The thought of having a care home annexed to our property is unsettling.

Our locality already faces parking struggles due to its proximity to Liverpool airport, a situation poised to intensify with the influx of staff and visitors to a care home. Additionally, Dam Wood Road is a small, friendly neighborhood home to young families and elderly residents who treasure its tranquility.

We are especially concerned about the potential changes in traffic patterns and parking availability, which would disproportionately impact residents like us who have lived here for decades. Increased congestion could pose safety risks for children playing outside and inconvenience elderly residents reliant on calm environs for their well-being.

Moreover, the physical and psychological strain of having a bustling facility directly attached to our residence is a distressing prospect. It risks disrupting the peaceful enjoyment of our home that has been a sanctuary for so many years.

For these reasons, we implore the Liverpool City Council to consider the ramifications for our community and reject the planning application for a children's home at 140 Dam Wood Road. The need to preserve the integrity of our cherished residential area cannot be overemphasized.

Please sign this petition to support the continued wellbeing and harmony of our beloved neighborhood.
