Our community is in distress. For over a year, we have been subjected to an unjustified increase in our lot rent, with no corresponding improvements or benefits in return. When the new landlord purchased the land on which our mobile homes are situated, they imposed an additional $200+ per month on each of us. This substantial hike has placed an unethical financial burden on all tenants, who have received nothing in return but a list of unnecessary demands.

The additional rent we are paying is unfair, especially considering the lack of enhancements to our living conditions. Despite paying more, we still face requests to make changes and repairs that should be up to homeowner discretion. We are expected to seal our roofs, build covers around the tongues of our mobile homes, and even fix or replace blinds/curtains. These demands are not only excessive but also an intrusion into the ownership of our homes.

The obligation to maintain basic cleanliness and a fresh coat of paint is understandable. However, being tasked with these unreasonable violations is crossing the line. It demonstrates a lack of regard for our rights as tenants and ignores the contractual agreements in place when we first agreed to reside here.

We are calling upon the landlord to reverse this unfair rent increase and refund any extra payments made over the past year. It is vital to restore the lot rent to its original, fair rate before this new ownership. Moreover, we urge them to remove any redundant violations imposed upon us.
