My name is Lynne, and I am deeply concerned about the current state of our nation. Our human rights are being eroded, our green policies have been stripped back, and those in power were not elected by us. This is not the democracy that we believe in.

The United Kingdom has always prided itself on its democratic values. However, these values seem to be under threat with our rights being taken away and environmental policies being disregarded. It's alarming that those making these decisions have not been chosen by us, the people.

According to Amnesty International's 2020/21 report on The State of The World’s Human Rights, there has been a significant regression in human rights in various parts of the world including the UK (Amnesty International). Furthermore, according to a study published by Carbon Brief in 2019, despite pledges made under the Paris Agreement, UK's green policies have seen significant cutbacks (Carbon Brief).

We need change now more than ever. We need leaders who will respect our rights and prioritize sustainable practices for our environment; leaders who are chosen by us through fair elections.

Therefore I am calling upon His Majesty King Charles to dissolve Parliament so that a general election can be called immediately. This action would allow us as citizens to exercise our democratic right and elect officials who truly represent us.
