Urge IBEW Local 145 Health and Welfare Trustees to Reinstate Chiropractic Services

Ryan MillerChicago, IL, United States
Created February 1, 2025

The Issue

As a proud member of IBEW Local 145, I am deeply concerned about the well-being of my coworkers and myself. We dedicate ourselves, day in and day out, to our labor-intensive tasks - a commitment that doesn't come without its physical challenges. Our work demands untiring strength, which often leads to a variety of physical ailments that requires dedicated chiropractic care. However, the recent withdrawal of chiropractic services from our Health and Welfare clinic has left us without a crucial component of our comprehensive healthcare coverage. Now, we are left to question: who will tend to our physical well-being amidst this demanding career?

Research suggests that regular chiropractic care significantly reduces work-related physical discomfort and improves productivity (American Journal of Public Health). In labor-intensive jobs like ours, this kind of service is not just a luxury, it's a necessity for our overall well-being and job satisfaction. Given the nature of our work, I sincerely believe that a full-time chiropractor in our clinic just makes sense.

I urge the IBEW Local 145 Health and Welfare Trustees to consider our plea seriously. Reinstate chiropractic services to our clinic, and show us that our physical health and well-being is a priority. It's time to restore this essential service to us, the dedicated workers who are the backbone of IBEW Local 145. Please sign this petition and stand up for our right to comprehensive healthcare.
