Save Hounslow Heath School – Protect Our Teachers, Leaders and Our Children's Future

Petition to Hounslow Council, Hounslow Heath School Governors, the Department for Education and our local MP.

Our children deserve stability. They deserve experienced teachers. They deserve strong leadership.

We, the parents, carers, students, former students and members of the Hounslow community, are devastated by the announcement that 20 valued teachers and senior leaders are leaving Hounslow Heath School following a staffing restructure driven by financial pressures.

This is not simply a staffing change. It is the loss of decades of experience, leadership, knowledge and care that cannot easily be replaced.

Among those leaving are respected members of the Senior Leadership Team, including Mrs Bush, Mr Gwilliams, Mrs Shingadia, Miss Pavely, Mrs Macgill and Mr Diaz, together with highly valued teachers including Mr Jung, all of whom have made an immeasurable contribution to the education and wellbeing of our children.

These teachers have inspired, supported and guided thousands of pupils. They have helped children through academic challenges, personal difficulties and some of the most important years of their lives. Many have dedicated years—if not decades—of service to Hounslow Heath School.

For many families, Miss Pavely is one of the faces of Hounslow Heath School. Her dedication, kindness and unwavering commitment have made a lasting difference to generations of pupils. The same can be said for Mr Diaz, Mr Gwilliams, Mr Jung and the many other staff members who are leaving.

Schools are built by people—not buildings.

While we recognise the financial pressures facing schools across the country, balancing budgets should not come at the cost of losing the very people who make our school exceptional.

We are calling on Hounslow Council, the Governing Body, the Department for Education and our local MP to:
Pause and urgently review the staffing restructure

● Conduct a full review of the decisions that led to the loss of so many experienced teachers and senior leaders

● Retain or, where possible, reinstate the experienced teachers and senior leaders whose departure will have a significant impact on pupils

● Be transparent with parents and the wider community about the decisions being made and the alternatives that have been considered.

● Protect the quality of education, pastoral care and leadership at Hounslow Heath School following these significant staff losses.

● Work to secure sustainable funding so that no school in Hounslow is forced to lose valued teachers and leaders because of financial pressures.

This petition is not just about jobs.
It is about protecting the quality of education our children receive.

It is about preserving the leadership, experience and relationships that have taken years to build.

It is about ensuring that future pupils receive the same opportunities, support and inspiration as those who came before them.

We stand with our teachers. We stand with our children. We stand with Hounslow Heath School.
