Our dear friend and TD Bank professional, Swati Bagrecha, is missing in Nepal following the catastrophic flash floods at the border. Swati traveled with the Isha Foundation for a spiritual pilgrimage, and her family has not heard from her since Wednesday morning.
Swati is a doting mother to a 13-year-old girl, a loving wife, and one of the brightest, most welcoming smiles in our Toronto South Asian community. This immigrant family cannot carry on in her absence.
We are urgently petitioning the Canadian government to intervene. @AnitaAnandMP, we desperately need Global Affairs Canada to exert its full diplomatic weight and work with local authorities to bring Swati home.

We request the Honorable Ms. Anita Anand, Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs, to leverage her influence and resources to intensify the search efforts for Swati and other Canadians who may be missing. The involvement of the Ministry could significantly boost local recovery efforts by providing additional manpower, technology, and coordination with Canadian agencies on the ground in Nepal.

Statistics from the Nepal Ministry show that during such calamities, the odds of survival decrease exponentially with time, emphasizing the urgency of international cooperation. According to the Canadian Government, over 100 Canadians reported traveling to the region around the time of the incident. Our plea is not just for Swati but for all those who seek the warmth and safety of home.
