I am a resident of New Jersey, deeply concerned about the ongoing conflict and human rights violations happening in Gaza. It is my firm belief that we all can contribute to ending this genocide, starting with our daily choices. 

Halal restaurants in New Jersey are popular and frequented by many of us. However, some of these establishments continue to stock and serve drinks from companies listed on the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement list. The BDS movement aims to end international support for companies that violate Palestinian rights.

According to a report by Human Rights Watch (HRW), businesses on the BDS list have been linked with human rights abuses in Palestine. By serving products from these companies at these restaurants - our purchase and consumption of these products, we indirectly fund apartheid, ethnic cleansing and genocide. 

As patrons and community members who care about global justice and peace, it's time we urge all Halal restaurants across New Jersey to stop stocking and serving drinks associated with such violations. We can assure them as patrons that we will not consume any products on the BDS list and it is in their interest to divest from these companies and offer alternates.
