Tell Governor Hochul: Veto the Cannabis Wage Board Bill
New York's legal cannabis industry is finally gaining momentum. Don't put that progress at risk.

The Cannabis Wage Board bill (A11562/S10643) was passed in the final days of the legislative session without the transparency or stakeholder input that a decision of this magnitude deserves. If signed into law, it would create a new government body with the power to set compensation standards across New York's cannabis industry.

Licensed cannabis businesses are still fighting to establish themselves after years of delays, limited access to capital, high taxes, and relentless competition from the illicit market. Adding another layer of uncertainty now will increase costs for businesses, make it harder to compete, discourage investment, and ultimately drive up prices for consumers.

New York should be focused on strengthening its legal market—not making it harder for licensed operators to survive.

We urge Governor Kathy Hochul to veto the Cannabis Wage Board bill and instead work with licensed businesses, workers, and other stakeholders on policies that support a stable, competitive, and sustainable cannabis industry.

A successful legal market benefits everyone. It creates jobs, generates tax revenue, protects consumers through regulated products, and helps eliminate the illicit market. Those goals are too important to jeopardize.

By signing this petition, I urge Governor Hochul to veto the Cannabis Wage Board bill and keep New York's legal cannabis industry moving in the right direction.
