As a concerned resident of Fayetteville, NC, I am advocating for our community's needs, and as a devoted husband, I am seeking to lessen the burden of extended travel for my wife. She is a fan of Trader Joe's, a grocery store that we unfortunately do not have in Fayetteville. Instead of conveniently shopping for our favorite goods in our hometown, we're compelled to drive exhaustive hours to Raleigh. This seems unfair when there is a possibility to bring a Trader Joe's supermarket to our city.

Recently, the Technical Review Committee of Fayetteville approved the construction of a Sheetz Gas station at 3008 Raeford Rd. While gas stations are important, having another one at this location may not bring as much value to our community as the construction of a Trader Joe’s. Also, we have so many Sheetz to choose from already.

Trader Joe's is rated as one of the best grocery chains in the United States, known for their affordable prices, quality products, and customer-focused store experiences (Consumer Reports, 2019). Our city would benefit from the jobs it would create, as well as the fresh, health-conscious foods it would introduce to our community. Providing Fayetteville with these benefits could improve our local economy and quality of life tremendously.

By signing this petition, you are urging Fayetteville’s Technical Review Committee to rethink their decision of approving another gas station. Instead, we implore them to wholeheartedly consider the construction of Trader Joe’s at the aforementioned location.
