Urge ESB Paint Public Lighting Poles in Inchicore
The Issue
As local residents of Inchicore, Dublin, we are disheartened by the run-down state of our public lighting poles. Our community takes pride in its appearance and these neglected poles are a blight on our landscape. We believe that the upkeep of our neighbourhood significantly impacts the quality of life for residents, tourists & visitors.
We urge Electricity Supply Board (ESB) to include painting the public lighting poles in Inchicore to their schedule of works for 2024. This is not just about aesthetics; it's about community pride and maintaining a high standard in our public realm.
According to a study conducted by University College Dublin, well-maintained urban infrastructure can lead to increased levels of happiness among citizens (UCD Study, 2018). By painting these lighting poles, ESB Ireland would not only be improving the physical appearance of Inchicore but also contributing positively towards mental wellbeing within the community.
We understand that ESB has many responsibilities and demands on its resources. We are grateful for the public lighting poles already painted on Thomas Davis Street West & Bulfin Estate in 2023. However, we firmly believe that painting the remaining dilapidated poles in the area will improve community morale.
There are run down poles located on Tyrconnell Street, Tyrconnell Park, Ring Terrace, Ring Street, Jamestown Road, Jamestown Avenue, Partridge Terrace, Nash Street and O’ Donoghue Street.
Please join us in urging the metering supervisor in the Dublin Central Office, to add this much-needed improvement project to the 2024 schedule of works. Sign this petition today!
