Working every day as a Doordash driver, it's an uphill struggle where half of the money earned goes directly into the gas tank. This overwhelming and disheartening reality is faced by many drivers who are essentially serving the community while barely getting by themselves.

Doordash has emerged as a leading food delivery service, playing a crucial role in today's gig economy. But despite its success, there's a major flaw in the system when drivers receive only $2.00 tips/base pay for a delivery of 15 miles. Studies show that the average gross hourly job revenue for a gig driver is just over $10 per hour before deducting fuel costs, wear and tear, and other operational expenses. This barely reaches the minimum wage in many places. Considering these factors, it is imperative that Doordash revises its policies and supports its drivers rather than exploiting them.

By implementing a fair wages, drivers can continue to provide exceptional service without the worry of financial instability lurking around every corner.
