Disney's upcoming live action remake of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" presents a unique opportunity to rethink one of the most poignant love stories. Although "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" is definitely my least favorite animated Disney classic, it's a story I still cherish, and now could be the time for a refreshing twist. Also, it was better than the original novel which I absolutely hated. It was WAY more sad and tragic than Disney's version!! 

In the original animated film, despite the fact that Quasimodo had feelings for Esmeralda, she ends up with Captain Phoebus. Although the ending was kind of bittersweet, it was still a happy one as well. Quasimodo seemed to accept Esmeralda and Phoebus as a couple and was happy for the two. Also, he was finally accepted by society and became everyone's friend with Esmeralda's help.

But despite all this, I've always believed that Quasimodo deserves a chance at true love with Esmeralda. This narrative change would not only offer a fresh romantic angle but could also deepen the timeless themes of acceptance, compassion, and inner beauty.

It's true that Disney tried to rectify this with "The Hunchback of Notre Dame II" by pairing Quasimodo with Madellaine, but this sequel failed to capture the magic of the first movie. Instead, let's allow Esmeralda and Quasimodo's undeniable bond to shine through in this live action adaptation. Both characters share a connection marked by kindness, empathy, and mutual respect. Bringing them together would emphasize the strength of finding love in the most unexpected places and challenge traditional notions of beauty and heroism that Disney often portrays.

The storyline has such potential to inspire audiences to look beyond appearances and recognize that love can transcend societal expectations. By rallying to make this dream a reality, we can inspire Disney to embrace a narrative that celebrates love in its truest form.
