However, Disney acquired this cherished platform in 2007, and in a heartbreaking turn for its dedicated fanbase, Disney attempted to charge tons of money for things like outfits, pets and furniture, leading fans to leave the game. It eventually shut down in 2017, replacing it with Club Penguin Island, which had even more microtransactions and less things to do over all, leading it to close a year later.

The demise of Club Penguin left a void in the hearts of millions. Passionate fans, refusing to let go of their pixelated paradise, established private servers to keep the spirit alive. Despite their best efforts, many of these fan-run servers were forcibly shut down by Disney's aggressive DMCA enforcement in 2020. Club Penguin Rewritten, the most successful of these servers, amassed an astounding 11 million users before it was compelled to close under the weight of a Disney copyright challenge in 2022.

In light of these events, we are calling on The Walt Disney Company to consider selling Club Penguin to Meta Platforms. Meta Platforms, with their expertise in connecting global communities and fostering innovative digital spaces, could resurrect and enhance the original magic that Club Penguin offered to its fans worldwide. Furthermore, by involving the original creator, Lance Priebe, in this revival, we can ensure the heart and soul of Club Penguin remain intact, preserving the rich legacy he envisioned.
