Urge Dean Spanos to Sell the Los Angeles Chargers Football Team

Urge Dean Spanos to Sell the Los Angeles Chargers Football Team
The Issue
I am a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Chargers, having devoted two decades of my life cheering for this team. Over time, however, it has become painfully clear that the current ownership does not prioritize either the fans or the team's success. The mismanagement of this beloved franchise is heartbreaking and frustrating for those who have stood by it through thick and thin.
Under Dean Spanos' leadership since 1994, we have seen a consistent pattern of underperformance. Despite having some talented players over the years, our team has only made it to one Super Bowl (in 1995) and hasn't won a championship in over five decades (source: NFL.com). This lackluster performance is indicative of an ownership that lacks commitment to building a winning culture.
Moreover, Spanos' decision to relocate the Chargers from San Diego to Los Angeles in 2017 was met with widespread criticism from fans who felt betrayed by their beloved franchise (source: ESPN.com). This move further demonstrated how detached our owner is from his fan base. Including keeping one of thee most incompetent general managers to ever sit behind a desk, as fans express the lack of drive one GM can have the name Tom Telesco is all to familiar. Ownership must be held accountable.
We believe that selling the team could usher in new leadership committed to turning around its fortunes while also rekindling its relationship with loyal fans like us. Therefore, we urge Dean Spanos to sell the Los Angeles Chargers football team as soon as possible.
