Urge Congress to Resume and Expand Funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program

Urge Congress to Resume and Expand Funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program
The Issue
As someone personally affected by the benefits of the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), I understand its vital role in ensuring millions of Americans stay connected. This program has been a lifeline for many, particularly in rural areas where poverty rates are higher. It has allowed us to maintain our quality of life by providing essential internet connectivity.
However, enrollment in this crucial program has been halted, and its funding is under threat. The ACP provides an average discount of $35 per month towards broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. These discounts make a significant difference, especially when considering that 19 million Americans lack access to high-speed internet (American Progress).
We cannot afford to lose this program that supports so many people's ability to work, learn, get medical care, and connect with others. We must ask Congress not only resume enrollment but also expand funding for the ACP so that it can continue serving those who need it most.
Please sign this petition urging Congress to prioritize digital inclusivity and ensure no American is left disconnected due to their financial situation.
